2022 - 2024 In Colours Challenge - South Pacific Demo Council 2021

This month I'm joining a small group of lovely ladies from Australia for a Blog Hop.  Collectively we were the South Pacific Demonstrator Council for Queensland and New Zealand in 2021.  Such a great group to work with, all with amazing strengths and supportive of each other and sharing some fantastic ideas.  We have decided to "Hop" together.  There are only three of us this time, but we hope the other ladies can join us next time too.

This month, our theme is the new 2022 - 2024 In Colour range.  Aren't they gorgeous colours.

I've chosen to work with a selection of products from the Tea Boutique Collection to create a set of cards, but I will be highlighting just one of them today (I will share the set too, see at the bottom of the post 😃).

I've chosen this set because "this goes with that" and most of the hard work is already done for you.
The Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes make creating beautiful cards so easy.  If you are a little time poor like me (I run a resort in sunny Queensland with my hubby so I work 7 days a week), or if you just need a quick easy card with not too much fussing, this card and envelope pack are perfect for you.  The card fronts are all patterned with the In Colour colours and the matching envelopes are beautiful.

All I have done to make this card is to take Parakeet Party card (the green one) and adhered a piece of Basic White cardstock ( 11cm x 8 cm) using your favourite adhesive.  I love our multipurpose glue, because if I don't get it straight the first time, I have a bit of wiggle room before it sticks.

I've used the Parakeet Party Stampin Write Marker to hand draw a design around the edge and stamp the sentiment from the Cup of Tea Stamp set.  Then I have used 2 of the dies from Teacup Dies set, cutting the solid background in Orchid Oasis and the patterned overlay in Starry Sky.  I've popped this up using the Dimensionals.  The pretty flowers in the cup are fussy cut from the Tea Boutique Designer Series Papers.

And its done - as simple as that.

These are the others I ave created using the same card and envelope pack (there are 20 card bases and matching envelopes)and the Tea Boutique 6 x 6 " DSP pack (48 sheets of really pretty designer series papers). I find fussy cutting around the designs very relaxing.  If you'd like to purchase the instructions for the full set for $10, please contact me.  If you purchase the Suite (see details below) I will send you the instruction set for free as a thank you.

Now its time to hop on over to see what Caroline has created for you.

Colour combination - Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

It's nice to be back in the craft room and being creative again.  This week, we have been given a colour challenge - something a little different.  These colours are certainly not a combination I would normally use, so I have had to step WAY out of my comfort zone this time around.  I hope you love it and feel inspired to, give it a go yourself.

So, I created this cute but simple card using the colours required.

These are the colours we were to use and to be honest, I really struggled with this combination.  I wasn't sure how to make them all work together, but then I realised, sometimes less is more.

I started simple with  sheet of Basic Whitestock cut in half and scored down the middle to form the card base  (21 x 14.8 cm).
I've used Crumb Cake cardstock (14 x 10 cm) as a neutral colour to tie it all together.  I have used the Timber 3D Embossing Folder to add some tecture.

Next I added some of the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon.  I played with this ribbon a little before attaching it and loved the effect I got when I pulled the edges of the ribbon apart to "stretch" it.

Next I used the Painted Label Dies.  I cut one label in the Pacific Point and another in Tahitian Tide.  Then I trimmed the outside of the lighter piece using my snips.  I stuck this together then attached it to a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock and trimmed around the edge with scissors again so it held the same shape.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from Waves of Inspiration and also Mr Pelican from the same stamp set.  I coloured the post using Crumb Cake Light and Dark Stampin blends, Light Smokey Slate for the bird, Pacific Point for the rope and a hint of mango Melody for the feet and beak.

Added a bit of bling with Tahitian Tide Dots from the 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots.

Pretty cute huh...well I think so anyway.  And its great for a masculine card too if you have a fellow who just needs to know how awesome he is.
